OUR TIPS FOR AFTER YOUR JUICE CLEANSE
Atelier Nubio - 01/07/2021
Whether your cleanse lasted one day, two or three, you have just given your body a well-deserved break.
Gradually reaccustom your body to your usual diet by adopting new virtuous habits, whether in terms of food, rhythm, or mindfulness!
Ideally, you should continue on your path after your cleanse to extend the well-initiated detox process. Also pay close attention to your body's reactions to identify foods that do not suit you (such as allergens like soy, seafood, gluten, dairy products, or processed foods).
Here you will find our post-detox tips to gently break the detox while extending its benefits. This is also the time to mentally prepare for your next cleanse. Detox is like exercise: the more you do it, the more pleasant and beneficial the routine becomes at all levels (without the little blockages of the first session!).
The right rhythm:
- 1 long juice cleanse (3 days) every 2 or 3 months.
- 1 short juice cleanse (1 or 2 days) every month.
The good idea:
Extend your juice cleanse with "Bone Broth" (1 per day at dinner) for a smooth transition. These highly nutritious and comforting fresh broths should be taken in the evening, alone or as a supplement to dinner.
Our "clean eating" tips:
Paying particular attention to your diet after the cleanse helps extend the effects of the detox and adopt virtuous and lasting habits.
1. WHOLE FOODS
Get into the habit of preparing your meals from raw ingredients. Avoid ready-made meals and all industrial and/or processed products.
2. Plant-based
Organic and seasonal fruits and vegetables should be consumed in large quantities. Not a single meal without cooked & raw vegetables! Whole and semi-whole grains, legumes (lentils, dried beans), fresh herbs, and oilseeds should be included daily. Good quality proteins are also welcome, in small portions. Choose organic meat and small, wild-caught fish. Avoid red and processed meats (cold cuts).
3. NO SUGAR
Refined sugars should be replaced by a tiny bit of raw honey, maple syrup, or dried fruits like dates, figs, or apricots.
Avoid stimulants (coffee & alcohol) as much as possible. Reserve them for weekends and celebrations!
4. INTERMITTENT FASTING
This "feast-famine" practice is deeply ingrained in our genes: our hunter-gatherer ancestors lived according to this "feast-famine" model. Between two feasts of hunting, fishing, or gathering, they fasted. Our body is programmed for this. Experience it for 15 to 24 hours (replace breakfast with a "shake" or dinner with a fantastic "Bone Broth" for example, without added salt, low in calories, and protein-rich - (12g of collagen per cup!)
One of the (many) positive effects of the cleanse is to limit your craving for sugar and junk food. Take the opportunity to eliminate stimulants as much as possible (tea, coffee, alcohol) and don't forget to treat yourself by composing beautiful colorful plates that make you feel good and inviting. This is also the ideal time to indulge yourself and fill your shelves with herbal teas, infusions, rooibos, and wander through market stalls to discover organic seasonal fruits and vegetables.
The most important thing is to learn to listen to your body, prepare your meals, and eat according to your hunger in a serene environment (at the table, calmly, without screens). The cleanse is also a privileged moment to take care of yourself, your body, and your mind by disconnecting. Take a book from your library and devour it all evening, treat yourself to a solo or duo massage, practice meditation and yoga... So many simple pleasures to reintroduce into our daily lives.
TYPICAL DAY:
Here you will find a "typical" day to stay in shape and radiate after your Detox cleanse:
Upon waking: 1/2 lemon in lukewarm water and an infusion of whole plants. Drink not hot after stretching for a long time. Take advantage of the plant infusion to meditate for 5 to 10 minutes!
Breakfast: (depending on appetite): raw fruits and oatmeal porridge with plant-based milk, sweetened with a little honey or maple syrup or dried fruits (dates, dried apricots). Add a gourmet touch with a teaspoon of almond butter, grated coconut... You can also opt for a savory breakfast if the idea appeals to you (soft-boiled egg, miso, and why not a Bone Broth?)
Lunch: (depending on appetite): a beautiful salad of raw vegetables (with lots of green leaves), seasoned with apple cider vinegar and gomasio, 1/2 avocado or a small portion of meat/fish/egg, cooked vegetables, one or two rice cakes, flower bread or a portion of gluten-free grains or sweet potato/squash
Dinner: (depending on appetite): a small salad of raw vegetables, 1 portion of cooked gluten-free grains (millet, brown rice, quinoa, buckwheat), roasted sweet potatoes or squash, cooked vegetables. You can add, depending on the other meals of the day, 1 portion of animal or vegetable protein.
Snack: Choose between seasonal raw fruits or vegetables, 1 rice cake spread with almond butter and/or honey or some dried fruits (apricots, dates, figs) or oilseeds (sesame or almonds for example).
Be sure to eat within a 12-hour window and allow a 12-hour window for digestive rest. This is the time to adopt the habit of eating dinner early.
WHAT NEXT?
