Atelier Nubio - 05/04/2026

Before we begin, could you introduce yourself?

“I'm Camille Bourretère, an osteopath in Paris for 6 years. I'm a former high-level athlete and a mother of two young girls. My background is scientific, marked by medical and biochemical studies, as well as five years of osteopathy. I chose to specialize in what fascinates me most: the vascular and lymphatic systems and the visceral sphere. Of course, I treat common complaints like lumbago, torticollis, etc., daily, but my signature lies in a tissue, articular, and preventative approach. I also trained in the Renata França method to enrich my manual practice, while integrating micro-nutrition and lifestyle hygiene. I'm currently pursuing a university degree in Paris to further my skills.

After teaching at an osteopathic clinic, I now dedicate myself entirely to my Parisian practice. A lover of health and design, I like the idea that care is a total experience, a mix of technical precision and beautiful gestures.”

What ritual marked your childhood and inspired you to become who you are today?

“My inspiration comes from a duality that makes complete sense to me today: a Gascon heritage and a demanding aesthetic. I owe a lot to a family rich in intellectual and spiritual quests. I naturally always valued humanism, introspection, and self-improvement. My childhood was cradled by the world of art and beauty thanks to my parents, who very early on gave me a taste for aesthetics and meticulous detail. My mom would take us to town to ask us about architectural styles, and I loved seeing tiny objects in auction rooms or browsing flea markets in the southwest.

At the same time, I spent all my holidays in a large family home in the Landes region, where manual work in the orchard and making local products were my favorite activities. That's where I learned grounding and this deep attraction to nature and living things. Here, manual trades have always been seen as noble, encompassing sewing, art, agriculture, and health. From a young age, I was passionate about piano and fine arts, developing my manual skills.

For my loved ones, self-care has never been superficial; it's a holistic health ritual, both technical and, in some ways, spiritual. In fact, I've always seen the men in my family take extreme care of themselves.”

Did you always know you would care for others?

“It’s funny, despite always knowing I would have a profession involving human contact, it was my student work experiences that led me there. Initially, my path was very academic; I wanted to go into pharmaceutical research. Alongside my studies, I worked for 10 years in fashion, mainly at Claudie Pierlot. This social experience was foundational; it reinforced listening, social connection, and the importance of aesthetics. It was then that I realized what I loved most was exchange and teaching.

Some say that osteopathy is a true calling, and when I'm asked if I ever aspire to manage a structure without practicing, my answer is immediate: never! I love this clinical contact, the intimacy of the consultation, and the unique satisfaction of transforming a patient's state. I feel like a secret agent of the body, searching for the root causes, and that fully drives me.”

You are trained in visceral, vascular, and lymphatic osteopathy, Renata França drainage, as well as micro-nutrition... Why is it important for you to offer a ritual that goes beyond osteopathy to your patients?

“I don't consider my profession the key to a patient's well-being, but rather a whole. I have a holistic vision of health, which is said of osteopathy, because it's a discipline that seeks the cause. I like to delve into the psychosocial aspect, lifestyle habits: sport, diet, beauty, the products in our kitchens, the professional environment, emotional health that impact our biology. I work with a pool of health professionals interested in and trained in preventive medicine and inflammatory conditions. It's fascinating! I see in the clinic that the evolution of a patient's symptoms also depends a lot on inflammatory conditions and daily stress, on overall lifestyle. In my opinion, we must dig in this direction for lasting results.”

Tell us more about your signature treatment…

“This exclusive treatment is a hybrid method I designed to provide a deep sense of lightness that is digestive, vascular, and muscular. It combines the tonic dynamic of Renata França lymphatic drainage with the gentleness and depth of visceral osteopathy. Generally, it is highly appreciated by patients suffering from water retention, aqueous cellulite, chronic digestive disorders, seeking suppleness and lightness. I wanted to bring an osteopathic interpretation of the fluid system to this wellness drainage, which is initially known more for its aesthetic virtues. It's not just a message; it's a holistic health consultation. As an osteopath, I analyze your tissue tensions to adapt the drainage. The treatment often concludes with personalized lifestyle advice to sustain the effects of the session.”

What do you want people to feel when they leave your office?

“I imagine myself in their place and I hope they all have a wonderful moment of relaxation, but above all, that it's effective for their comfort and lightness! Personally, I would be frustrated to leave a "draining" treatment without feeling light! I would also like everyone to leave with good habits to implement daily.”

What are the most common misconceptions about drainage?

“There are several forms of drainage:

  • Therapeutic drainage according to the gentle Vodder or Leduc techniques practiced in physiotherapy

  • More tonic wellness drainage that has an immediate comfort action (at least when properly performed).

What I often hear is confusion with a slimming remodeling treatment. Yes, it can work on aqueous cellulite but is not intended for fatty or purely aesthetic cellulite. It is often very pleasant, sometimes sensitive, but rarely very painful, except for certain cellulites or very specific pathologies. And no, it is not supposed to cause bruises, otherwise it is poorly performed!”

What is your philosophy of well-being?

“I too often hear that well-being, taking care of oneself, is superficial. I don't agree, it's a form of self-respect, of meditation, of centering that is also useful in our relationship with others. Whatever our budget, small pleasures are often the best. I would say it's an association of inner health and outer aesthetics. There is also currently a race for longevity. I find that fascinating too, I also see that well-being is part of a lifestyle. It must first and foremost be practiced for oneself.”

Have you always taken care of yourself?

“Yes, truly, even if I sometimes go off track! Overall, I was very lucky to grow up in a sporty family who cooked very well with good, raw ingredients. In my family, taking care of oneself physically and spiritually is a form of elegance and self-respect. I naturally have good lifestyle habits, which helps me a lot. Of course, during periods of my studies, I was extremely stressed, with short nights and snacking. That said, concerning my skin, from the age of 15, I practiced Japanese layering (double cleansing, aloe vera, jojoba oil). I’ve had a well-established skin routine for 17 years.

I remember a phrase that struck me, which I find very true: Our body is the only place we spend our entire lives. We must take care of it. Again, sometimes I let go, especially since becoming a mother.”

Tell us about your Atelier Nubio favorites.

I particularly like the On veut de Jolies Gambettes cure, whose composition includes plants known to be venotonic and venoprotective. Mainly witch hazel; the WHO recognizes its benefits for venous insufficiency.

I'm not a collagen fanatic, but I love Atelier Nubio's Bone Broths. In reality, collagen has a truly positive effect on inflammation modulation and intestinal permeability. It is composed of glycine, an amino acid that plays an important role in the formation of a major antioxidant, glutathione.

Currently, I'm a big fan of the Draining Elixir with blackcurrant and prickly pear. I'm less familiar with phytotherapy, but I really feel a sense of lightness for the past 10 days.

If I had to keep one, it would be the Bone Broths, this organic plant and chicken broth that I love to drink hot or cold from the bottle between two patients at lunchtime. Simply because it has multiple positive actions on the intestinal barrier.

What is your regenerating ritual for body and mind?

“For me, it's a mix of body care and intellectual stimulation. This includes movement and exercise. But also moments of grounding and almost meditation; I'm thinking of cooking or my skincare routine where I find myself. What deeply recharges me and nourishes my spirit are philosophical or psychological readings on the subway or at home in the evening.”

What are the three rituals that, in your opinion, are the three pillars of well-being?

“If I had to summarize, it would be this:

I start by releasing circulation through diaphragmatic movement: 5 minutes of conscious diaphragmatic breathing. The diaphragm is not just the breathing muscle; it is the main piston of the vascular and lymphatic system. By lowering, it creates pressure on the Cisterna Chyli and pushes lymph and venous blood towards the heart. This is an essential starting point for natural drainage. This can be practiced in yoga, meditation, hypopressive abs, vacuum, etc.

I tone the vessels with the Scottish shower, which has become indispensable for me in summer, an alternation of hot and cold water focused on the lower limbs. This causes vasoconstriction (contraction of vessels) then vasodilation (dilation of vessels). It really improves venous return and comfort.

Then, I nourish the intestine to restore its structure. Lymph is mainly formed in the chyliferous lymph nodes of the small intestine. I really make sure to have a diet rich in good Omega 3 fatty acids, antioxidants, cofactors for liver detoxification phases, etc.”

What simple daily ritual is a game-changer for you?

“Taking time for myself. I absolutely need this break in my kitchen in the morning. I make myself a good breakfast, have some food supplements, a large glass of water – I don't like coffee. In fact, it makes my husband laugh because I start with that and then get ready at the last minute. If I haven't had two large glasses of water, protein, and fruit in the morning, I quickly become unpleasant; it changes my perspective on the day!”

Finally, if you had to give us some advice for feeling good in your body and taking care of your figure daily?

“You have to listen to your own physiological needs; everyone is the result of a complex balance between genetics, environment, and lifestyle. I think well-being begins when you stop fighting your own nature. I imagine you have to treat your body as an ally and not something you try to transform. This involves massage. Take the time to massage your skin for just a few minutes a day.

And let's really try to detach ourselves from the cult of perfection, because even figures that meet beauty standards experience water retention or cellulite; I see them in the clinic. I see how motherhood can change a lot of things; the ideal for me to feel good is to accept these variations, which are physiological, and prioritize energy. And then move, to circulate fluids. Let's mobilize our bodies, avoid at all costs this feeling of heaviness due to stagnation, which sometimes also weighs on our morale.”
