Benefits of nettle: discover its power on the body

The 4 benefits of nettle for skin and hair

Very rich in trace elements and minerals, stinging nettle has a very interesting composition:

- Vitamins A, B2, B5, B9, C, D, E and K;
- Calcium, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, zinc, iron, manganese, selenium and copper;
- Plant-based proteins;
- Antioxidants (flavonoids and formic acids).

1 - Fighting acne

Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, nettle purifies the skin and thus limits the appearance of pimples and blemishes. It is considered a detoxifying plant that helps eliminate toxins from the epidermis. Its draining and alkalizing properties also help reduce sebum production. For oily skin, using nettle powder is highly beneficial!

2 - Improve the appearance of the skin

Highly valued by those with atopic skin (eczema, psoriasis, acne, etc.), nettle helps soothe skin irritations. Paradoxical for a plant that makes you itch at the slightest touch, isn't it? Yet, it has a truly revitalizing effect on the skin! It can even relieve itching, cleanse the skin, and firm it. In short, everything needed to restore the skin's tone.

3 - Promote hair growth

Nettle doesn't just work wonders on the skin; it also works wonders on hair! Its high concentration of B vitamins, zinc, and silica makes it a powerful ally against hair loss. It promotes cell renewal (hair, skin, nails), thus helping to repair brittle hair, encourage regrowth, and tone the scalp.

4 - Cleanse the scalp

Stinging nettle has purifying and remineralizing properties that are very beneficial for the scalp. It helps reduce excess sebum and combat dandruff. Its concentration of vitamins B, C, and E, as well as sulfur and zinc, makes it an excellent scalp tonic.

How to use nettle for the skin?

To enjoy the benefits of nettle, several solutions are available: nettle powder, to be consumed as an herbal tea, or directly as a food supplement!

Drink nettle tea

Preparing a nettle infusion couldn't be simpler:

- Put about 10g of nettle powder or fresh or dried leaves in a cup,
- add boiling water,
- Infuse for about ten minutes,
- filter,
- and enjoy!

You can drink this infusion throughout the day, up to 4 times a day . Very rich in vitamins and minerals, this herbal tea is beneficial for the body.

Always choose stinging nettle leaves from organic farming (they can easily be found in organic stores), or go and pick them yourself!

Take nettle food supplements

If you don't like the taste of nettle tea or want to do a proper nettle treatment, opt for nettle-based food supplements! There are even nettle capsules for skin and acne.
