“How much red wine should I drink to get enough resveratrol?” To get the same as our mice* you'd have to drink a barrel a day, which I definitely don't recommend, however tempting!”
Tweet from Dr. David A. Sinclair, a longevity researcher at Harvard University and a resveratrol specialist (*hence the mention of laboratory mice). He personally takes a resveratrol supplement every morning equivalent to 500 glasses of red wine.
Atelier Nubio's tips for the alcohol-free challenge:
- Very good kombucha like Vivant's (this slightly "sauer" flavor and the effervescence help to "replace" the glass (a good trick when you are pregnant or breastfeeding too!).
- THE Bone broths and collagen broths are very effective.
- Visualization / mental preparation (especially at the most difficult times: Friday night, dinner with friends, weekend in the countryside – a glass of wine completes the picture nicely): I prepare myself by visualizing the scenes very precisely, around this table, in this armchair, after this walk and this bath, refusing the wine, hearing my voice do it, seeing myself take water, etc.
- Finding good practices to reconnect with the body (dance, sport, breath work, sex…) when the mind takes me far away (anger, annoyance, discouragement) – that's the best way to change the channel!
- The association of thoughts (the most powerful in my opinion). I started the article on the French perception: wine = good for health/beauty, which is completely false, and even if it's a pleasure, wine impairs the quality of sleep and skin (even in moderate amounts). I'm particularly sensitive to alcohol and I notice a difference after one glass of wine each evening. I experience a real boost in energy, mood, and radiance if I don't drink any alcohol at all. I associate my thoughts with 0 alcohol = great evening, night, and morning. This helps me resist that glass of wine!
